Out of sight, out of mind. That’s a powerful phrase. It’s probably pushed you into being consistent, no matter whether you feel like it or not.
How about those touchpoints? It used to be 7, now it could be 60+. Is that pushing you into being present day in and day out?
Are you forcing yourself to show up, even when it’s not helping?
Are you forcing yourself to show up, even though it is crushing you?
Your audience is utterly overwhelmed with requests for its attention. Every day gets noisier, whilst the need for discernment gets more urgent. There is no head space in the shouting.
You used to need 7 touchpoints for familiarity, now you need dozens just to get seen and dozens more to capture attention. It’s an exponential increase for diminishing returns.
It will only keep going up unless you choose differently. You have a finite amount of energy, you need to use it wisely.
You do not need to be endlessly visible to be seen. You only need two things that will work no matter your content schedule.
Energy
And coherence.
Your people take notice of the energy you bring – before anything else. It’s a primal language that everyone understands. Those moments when you read someone like an open book before they opened their mouth, that’s you reading energy. Your audience does the same with you.
And coherence, that’s when you read someone and then they open their mouth and either it’s exactly what you felt or its not remotely the same and you recoil. That’s what your audience is doing with you.
They are reading your energy. That’s their first, and most important, touchpoint.
Bring the right energy and use it coherently and they don’t need 60 touchpoints to act, they need one.
Every single one of my favourite clients, the ones who have been a joy to work with had just one touchpoint in my world before they reached out to me. I gave each one of those clients the option to take time to think it through, they didn’t need it. I gave them the option to wait to start work, they didn’t want it. One touchpoint is enough if the energy is true and the actions coherent.
Holding energy in motion is the key to reaching your audience and growing your business. The ability to achieve this comes from rhythm and gives you rhythm.
We aren’t meant to be constantly, consistently creative. We are meant to work with rhythm, it’s how we stay healthy and curious. It’s how we build resources to grow sustainably.
You don’t need to batch 365 days of content or post 10 times a day. That’s just adding to the noise.
Take the time to deepen the energy and learn how to express it coherently and you will create the space to create and the time to flow with your natural rhythm.
The waiting list for Elemental Business is open. The next move is yours.
